Description
Crescent dough–wrapped hot dogs baked golden and dotted with mustard eyes for a fun, spooky Halloween finger food.
Ingredients
12 beef or turkey hot dogs
2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 large egg, beaten (optional, for egg wash)
Yellow mustard or ketchup, for eyes and dipping
Optional: 4 oz cheddar, cut into thin matchsticks
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment.
2. Unroll crescent dough, pinch perforations to seal, and cut into thin 1/4-inch strips.
3. Wrap each hot dog with dough strips, crisscrossing to look like bandages and leaving a small gap for the face.
4. If using cheese, tuck a few cheddar matchsticks under the dough wraps before finishing.
5. Brush wraps lightly with beaten egg (optional) and place on the prepared sheet.
6. Bake 12–15 minutes, until dough is puffed and golden and hot dogs are heated through.
7. Cool 2 minutes, then dot mustard or ketchup in the face gap to make eyes. Serve warm with extra dipping sauce.
