Golden, garlicky breadsticks shaped like bones and stuffed with melty mozzarella. Perfect spooky party snack with marinara or your favorite dips.
Ingredients
1 lb refrigerated pizza dough
6 mozzarella string cheese sticks, halved (12 pieces)
3 tbsp salted butter, melted
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
3 tbsp grated Parmesan
1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
1 tsp flaky sea salt (optional)
1-2 tbsp flour, for dusting
1 cup marinara sauce, warmed, for dipping
Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment or a silicone mat.
2. Lightly flour the counter. Roll pizza dough to a 1/4-inch-thick rectangle.
3. Cut dough into 12 strips, each about 1 inch wide and 6-7 inches long.
4. Place a half cheese stick in the center of each strip, fold over, and pinch seams to seal.
5. At each end, cut a 1-inch slit and tie each side into a loose knot to form bone ends.
6. Stir melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Brush over shaped bones.
7. Sprinkle Parmesan (and flaky salt if using). Space bones 1 inch apart on the sheet.
8. Bake 12-15 minutes until puffed and golden; rotate the pan once for even browning.
9. Cool 3-5 minutes. Brush with any remaining butter and sprinkle parsley if desired.
10. Serve warm with marinara or favorite dips. Reheat at 350°F for 5-7 minutes if needed.
