1. Combine lukewarm milk, a teaspoon of sugar, and yeast and let bloom until foamy
2. Whisk flour sugar and salt then add eggs and yeast mixture and mix until a shaggy dough forms
3. Knead in softened butter one piece at a time until the dough is glossy and elastic
4. Let the dough rise in a lightly oiled bowl until doubled in size
5. Deflate the dough, cover tightly and refrigerate overnight
6. Roll the chilled dough into a rectangle and spread the cinnamon sugar filling evenly
7. Arrange apple slices over the filling and drizzle with caramel sauce
8. Cut the dough into strips, stack them, then cut into squares and stand them upright in a greased loaf pan
9. Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake the loaf for 40–45 minutes, covering with foil if the top browns too quickly
10. Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before unmolding and serve warm
