1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a 2-quart casserole dish
2. In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour and cook 1 minute
3. Slowly add milk, whisk until thickened, then transfer to a bowl and cool slightly
4. Whisk in eggs, cream, sugar, salt, pepper and fold in corn kernels
5. Pour mixture into dish, sprinkle cornmeal on top and bake 40-45 minutes until golden
6. Let rest 10 minutes before serving
