Jalapeño Mummy Poppers

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 24 poppers 1x

Description

Spooky, crowd-pleasing jalapeño poppers wrapped in crescent dough with googly eyes—creamy, spicy, and perfect Halloween finger food.

Ingredients

Scale

12 fresh jalapeños, halved lengthwise and seeded

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar or pepper jack

2 green onions, thinly sliced

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp smoked paprika

1/4 tsp kosher salt

1 (8 oz) can crescent roll dough

1 large egg, beaten (egg wash)

48 candy eyes or tiny olive bits for eyes

Ranch or chipotle sauce, for serving (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C); line 2 baking sheets with parchment.

2. Mix cream cheese, cheddar, green onions, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt until smooth.

3. Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture, leveling the tops.

4. Unroll crescent dough and cut into thin 1/4-inch strips.

5. Wrap dough strips around each filled jalapeño to resemble mummies, leaving a gap for eyes; brush lightly with egg wash.

6. Bake 16–18 minutes until golden and jalapeños are tender.

7. Cool 5 minutes, then press on candy eyes (or dab sour cream and place olive bits).

8. Serve warm with ranch or chipotle sauce.
