A playful Halloween burger shaped like a spider with crispy fries on the side—kid-friendly, customizable, and perfect for October dinners.
Ingredients
3 medium russet potatoes, cut into fries
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1 tsp kosher salt (for patties)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder (for patties)
4 burger buns
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 lettuce leaves
1 tomato, sliced
Ketchup, mustard, or mayo
32 pretzel sticks or thin breadsticks (legs)
8 black olive slices or pieces (eyes)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
2. Toss potatoes with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, and salt; spread out.
3. Bake fries 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
4. Form 4 patties from the ground beef; season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
5. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high; cook patties 3–4 minutes per side.
6. Top each patty with cheddar in the last minute to melt; rest 2 minutes.
7. Lightly toast buns on the skillet or in the oven for 1–2 minutes.
8. Build burgers: bottom bun, lettuce, tomato, cheesy patty, then top bun.
9. Insert 4 pretzel sticks on each side as spider legs; dot bun with ketchup or mayo and add olive pieces for eyes.
10. Plate burgers with fries arranged in a circular “web” pattern and serve immediately.
