  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: Serves 4

Description

A playful Halloween burger shaped like a spider with crispy fries on the side—kid-friendly, customizable, and perfect for October dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

3 medium russet potatoes, cut into fries

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp kosher salt

1 lb ground beef (80/20)

1 tsp kosher salt (for patties)

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder (for patties)

4 burger buns

4 slices cheddar cheese

4 lettuce leaves

1 tomato, sliced

Ketchup, mustard, or mayo

32 pretzel sticks or thin breadsticks (legs)

8 black olive slices or pieces (eyes)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.

2. Toss potatoes with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, and salt; spread out.

3. Bake fries 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.

4. Form 4 patties from the ground beef; season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

5. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high; cook patties 3–4 minutes per side.

6. Top each patty with cheddar in the last minute to melt; rest 2 minutes.

7. Lightly toast buns on the skillet or in the oven for 1–2 minutes.

8. Build burgers: bottom bun, lettuce, tomato, cheesy patty, then top bun.

9. Insert 4 pretzel sticks on each side as spider legs; dot bun with ketchup or mayo and add olive pieces for eyes.

10. Plate burgers with fries arranged in a circular “web” pattern and serve immediately.
