Fun, kid-friendly bread bones stuffed with melty cheese and brushed with garlic butter—perfect spooky appetizers for Halloween parties.
Ingredients
1 lb pizza or bread dough
1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar
3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
2 tbsp grated Parmesan (optional)
1/2 tsp kosher salt
Flour for dusting
Marinara or ranch, for serving
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C); line a baking sheet with parchment.
2. Lightly flour a surface; roll dough to a 1/4-inch-thick rectangle.
3. Cut into 16 strips about 6 inches long.
4. Sprinkle a little cheese along the center of each strip; fold over and pinch seams to seal.
5. Shape each piece: tie small knots or slit and roll the ends to form bone-like bulbs.
6. Stir melted butter with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt; brush over bones.
7. Arrange on the sheet; bake 12–15 minutes until golden (add Parmesan in last 2 minutes).
8. Cool 3 minutes; serve warm with marinara or ranch for dipping.
