1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
2. In a bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
3. In another bowl cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract, then stir in milk until smooth.
5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
6. Toss chopped apples with brown sugar and cinnamon until coated.
7. Spread half of the batter into the pan, top with half of the apples, add remaining batter, and finish with remaining apples; swirl gently.
8. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
9. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before removing.
10. In a small bowl whisk powdered sugar with milk or cream to make a glaze.
11. Drizzle the glaze over the warm loaf and let it set before slicing.
12. Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for up to two months.
