  • Total Time: 43 minutes
  • Yield: 6 skulls 1x

Description

Spooky skull-shaped cheeseburgers baked in a skull pan—fun, kid-approved, and perfect for a festive Halloween dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

1 1/2 lb (680 g) 80/20 ground beef

1 large egg

1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs

1/2 small onion, finely diced

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp kosher salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or 6 small cheese cubes)

Nonstick spray or oil, for the skull pan

Ketchup, for serving/decor

Dill pickle slices or olives, for “eyes” (optional)

Mustard or BBQ sauce, for serving (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 6-cavity skull pan and set it on a baking sheet.

2. In a bowl, combine beef, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire; mix gently until just combined.

3. Press a thin layer of meat mixture into each skull cavity to form a shell.

4. Place 2 tbsp shredded cheddar or a cheese cube in the center of each cavity.

5. Cover with remaining meat, pressing to seal edges so the cheese is enclosed.

6. Bake 25–30 minutes, or until browned and the centers reach 160°F (71°C).

7. Let rest 5 minutes, then carefully unmold; use a small spatula if needed.

8. Decorate with ketchup “blood” and pickle or olive “eyes”; add mustard or BBQ if desired.

9. Optional: Lay a cheese slice over each skull and briefly melt for extra gooey tops.

10. Serve hot with fries or roasted veggies for a complete Halloween dinner.
