Description
Golden, bone-shaped breadsticks stuffed with mozzarella and brushed with garlicky butter—cute, spooky, and party-ready.
Ingredients
1 lb (450 g) pizza dough, room temp
1–1.5 cups shredded mozzarella or 6 string cheeses halved
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning or dried oregano
2 tbsp finely grated Parmesan (optional)
Pinch kosher salt
Pinch black pepper (optional)
Flour for dusting
1 cup marinara or ranch, for dipping (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
2. Stir garlic powder and Italian seasoning into the melted butter; set aside.
3. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to a 10×14-inch rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
4. Cut into 12 strips, about 1 inch wide and 5–6 inches long.
5. Add cheese: sprinkle mozzarella down each strip or place half a string cheese in the center.
6. Fold dough over cheese to enclose and pinch seams tightly; place seam-side down.
7. Snip a 1/2-inch slit at both ends of each stick, then round and spread the tips to form bone “knobs.”
8. Arrange on the sheet, brush with half the garlic-butter, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
9. Bake 12–15 minutes until puffed and golden and cheese is melty.
10. Brush with remaining garlic-butter, dust with Parmesan if using, rest 2 minutes, and serve warm with dips.
