Description
This family-friendly creamy garlic parmesan pasta is a cozy, quick dinner made with simple ingredients. It’s rich, cheesy, and kid-approved — perfect for weeknights or lazy weekends.
Ingredients
12 oz fettuccine or pasta of choice
2 tablespoons butter
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups milk
¾ cup grated parmesan cheese
½ teaspoon salt (to taste)
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Cook pasta in salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
3. Stir in flour and cook for another minute to form a roux.
4. Slowly whisk in milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens (about 3–4 minutes).
5. Add grated parmesan, salt, and pepper. Stir until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
6. Toss cooked pasta with the sauce until well coated.
7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
Add cooked chicken, shrimp, or broccoli to make it a complete meal.
Use half-and-half or cream instead of milk for a richer sauce.
This recipe is great for picky eaters and can be made vegetarian.
