Halloween Spider Burgers with Fries

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 burgers 1x

Description

A fast, family-friendly burger night turned spooky: cheesy burgers styled as spiders with fry “legs” and olive “eyes,” served with a pile of crispy fries. Perfect for Halloween parties or a quick themed dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef (80/20) or four 1/4 lb patties

1 tsp kosher salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

4 burger buns, split

4 slices cheddar or American cheese

1 lb frozen straight-cut fries, divided

8 olive slices or 8 small olive halves (for eyes)

2 tbsp ketchup or mustard (to adhere eyes and for serving)

Lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion (optional)

2 tbsp mayonnaise (optional)

16–32 straight fries or 16–20 pretzel sticks for legs

Instructions

1. Heat oven or air fryer to package temp and cook fries until crisp; reserve 8 straight fries per burger for legs.

2. Form four patties if using loose beef; season both sides with salt and pepper.

3. Cook patties in a skillet or on a grill over medium-high heat until browned and 160°F internal.

4. Top each patty with a cheese slice in the last minute to melt.

5. Lightly toast buns on the grill or in a dry skillet until golden.

6. Build the spider body: bottom bun, optional mayo, lettuce and tomato, cheesy patty, then top bun.

7. Create legs: gently insert 4 straight fries (or pretzel sticks) into each side of the burger.

8. Make eyes: dab ketchup or mustard on the top bun and stick on olive slices or halves.

9. Plate each burger with remaining hot fries and your favorite dips.

10. Serve immediately so the legs stay crisp; swap pretzels for extra crunch if holding for a party.
