Fun Halloween Breadstick Bones with Cheese

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: Makes 16 bones 1x

Description

Spooky breadstick bones stuffed with gooey mozzarella, brushed with garlic-herb butter, and served with marinara “blood” for a crowd-pleasing Halloween appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb refrigerated pizza dough

8 mozzarella string cheese sticks, halved

3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp Italian seasoning

2 tbsp grated Parmesan (optional)

1 cup marinara sauce, warmed

Fine sea salt, to taste

All-purpose flour, for dusting

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line 2 sheet pans with parchment.

2. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to a 10×14-inch rectangle.

3. Cut dough into 16 strips, about 1 inch wide and 4–5 inches long.

4. Place half a string cheese on each strip; fold dough over and pinch seams to seal.

5. Snip a 1-inch slit at each short end; curl flaps outward to form bone tips.

6. Arrange bones seam-side down on pans, spacing 1 inch apart.

7. Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning; brush over bones.

8. Bake 12–15 minutes until puffed and golden.

9. Sprinkle with Parmesan and a pinch of salt; bake 1–2 minutes more.

10. Cool 3 minutes; serve warm with marinara for dipping.
