Ingredients

Scale

12 mini mozzarella balls (ciliegine)

12 thin salami slices

6 large green olives, pimento-stuffed, sliced

6 large black olives, sliced

1 teaspoon olive oil (optional)

Fresh basil or parsley leaves (optional)

12 sturdy toothpicks or cocktail picks

1/2 cup marinara or red pepper dip (optional, for serving)

Instructions

1. Slice green and black olives into 1/4-inch rounds to make pupils.

2. Fold each salami slice in half to form a small base.

3. Set one mozzarella ball on each salami base; top with an olive slice.

4. Skewer through olive, mozzarella, and salami to secure the stack.

5. Brush mozzarella lightly with olive oil if dry; tuck in a small herb leaf if using.

6. Chill 10 minutes, then serve on a dark platter with marinara for a spooky effect.
