Description

Ground Turkey Lettuce Wraps offer a quick, nutritious, and flavor-packed meal inspired by Asian cooking. Lean ground turkey is sautéed with garlic, ginger, soy and hoisin sauces, then served in crisp lettuce leaves with fresh vegetables and customizable toppings for a light yet satisfying dinner.

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey (93% lean or higher)
  • 1 head butter or iceberg lettuce, leaves separated
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium or tamari)
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ cup shredded carrots
  • ¼ cup chopped water chestnuts (optional)
  • 23 green onions, sliced
  • crushed red pepper or chili paste to taste (optional)
  • sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

  • Instructions

    1. Separate and wash lettuce leaves, then pat dry and chill.

    2. Heat sesame oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.

    3. Add ground turkey and cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking into small pieces, until browned.

    4. Stir in garlic and ginger and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

    5. Lower heat and add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and rice vinegar, stirring to coat the turkey.

    6. Mix in shredded carrots, water chestnuts, and green onions and cook for 1 more minute.

    7. Taste and adjust seasoning with more soy or hoisin if needed.

    8. Place about 2 tablespoons of turkey mixture into each lettuce leaf.

    9. Top with sesame seeds or extra green onions if desired.

    10. Fold lettuce around filling and serve immediately.
