Halloween Brookies with Frosting & Candy Treats

Description

Chewy cookie-meets-brownie bars topped with colorful frosting, candy eyes, and spooky sprinkles—festive, kid-friendly, and perfect for parties.


Ingredients

Nonstick spray or parchment paper

1 box brownie mix (18–20 oz)

Eggs, oil, and water (as box directs)

16.5 oz chilled chocolate chip cookie dough

16 oz vanilla frosting (1 tub) or 2 cups buttercream

Gel food coloring: orange, green, purple, black

1/2 cup candy eyes

1/3 cup Halloween sprinkles

1 cup mini candies (M&M’s, candy corn, etc.)

Pinch of flaky salt (optional, for topping)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment.

2. Prepare brownie batter per package directions (or use your favorite fudgy recipe).

3. Press cookie dough in an even layer over the bottom of the prepared pan.

4. Pour brownie batter over cookie layer; spread gently to fully cover.

5. Bake 30–35 minutes until a toothpick has moist crumbs (no wet batter).

6. Cool completely in pan on a rack, about 45–60 minutes, before decorating.

7. Divide frosting into bowls; tint with gel colors (orange, green, purple, black).

8. Frost the cooled brookies or pipe designs; add candy eyes and sprinkles.

9. Press on mini candies; sprinkle a pinch of flaky salt if desired.

10. Cut into 24 squares and serve. Store airtight 2–3 days (decorate day of for best crunch).
