Mummy Hot Dogs (Halloween Crescent-Wrapped Franks)

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 12 mummy dogs 1x

Description

Crescent-dough–wrapped hot dogs baked until golden, then dotted with mustard eyes for a fun, spooky party snack that’s fast, kid-friendly, and crowd-pleasing.

Ingredients

Scale

12 standard hot dogs

2 (8 oz/226 g) tubes refrigerated crescent dough or dough sheet

1 large egg, beaten (optional, for gloss)

1 tbsp water (for egg wash, optional)

Mustard or ketchup, for eyes

1 tbsp sesame or poppy seeds (optional)

Nonstick spray or parchment, for the pan

Instructions

1. Heat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a sheet pan with parchment or lightly spray.

2. Unroll dough and cut into thin 1/4-inch strips (you’ll have plenty for wrapping).

3. Pat hot dogs dry. Wrap each with dough strips, leaving a small gap for eyes.

4. Whisk egg with water; brush mummies lightly (optional). Sprinkle seeds if using.

5. Bake 13–15 minutes until puffed and deep golden.

6. Cool 2 minutes. Dot the eye gaps with mustard or ketchup to make faces.

7. Serve warm with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauces.
