Description
Crescent-wrapped hot dogs baked golden and dotted with spooky eyes—a kid-friendly, make-ahead hit for Halloween birthday buffets.
Ingredients
16 hot dogs
2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-count each)
4 slices cheddar, cut into thin strips (optional)
1 large egg, beaten (optional, for egg wash)
2 tablespoons yellow mustard or ketchup (for eyes)
Cooking spray or parchment paper
Assorted dipping sauces, for serving
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment or lightly coat with cooking spray.
2. Pat hot dogs dry. If using cheese, wrap a thin cheddar strip around each hot dog.
3. Unroll crescent dough and press seams to seal. Cut into 1/4-inch strips using a knife or pizza cutter.
4. Wrap each hot dog with dough strips, crisscrossing to resemble bandages and leaving a small gap for the face.
5. Brush lightly with beaten egg if using for extra sheen.
6. Bake 12–15 minutes, rotating pans once, until dough is puffed and golden and hot dogs are heated through.
7. Cool 3 minutes, then dot two mustard or ketchup eyes in the face gap. Serve warm with dipping sauces.
