Description

This homemade beef and broccoli is a quick, healthy stir-fry that brings Chinese takeout flavors into your kitchen with lean protein and nutrient-rich greens. Ready in 30 minutes, it’s perfect for balanced weeknight meals.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean beef steak (sirloin or flank), thinly sliced
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth or water

  • Instructions

    1. Combine soy sauce, broth, oyster sauce and cornstarch in a small bowl and set aside

    2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat

    3. Add beef in a single layer, stir-fry until browned, then remove and set aside

    4. Add remaining oil, then stir-fry broccoli with a splash of broth until bright green and tender-crisp

    5. Add garlic and ginger, cook 30 seconds until fragrant

    6. Return beef to the pan and pour in sauce mixture, stir until sauce thickens and coats ingredients

    7. Serve immediately over rice, cauliflower rice or noodles
