Ingredients
Instructions
1. Prepare the Strawberries: Start by rinsing your fresh strawberries thoroughly under cool water. Gently pat them dry with a paper towel. Hull each strawberry by carefully removing the green leafy top with a small knife, then slice them into bite-sized pieces. Place the sliced strawberries into a large mixing bowl.
2. Add the Berries: Next, rinse the blueberries and raspberries. Gently pick through them to remove any stems or bruised berries. Add the clean blueberries and raspberries directly to the bowl with the strawberries.
3. Cube the Melons: Take your cantaloupe and honeydew melons. Carefully cut them in half, scoop out the seeds with a spoon, and then use a vegetable peeler or a knife to remove the rind. Once peeled, cut the melon flesh into uniform, bite-sized cubes. Add the melon cubes to the bowl with the berries.
4. Zest the Lime: Using a fine grater or microplane, carefully zest one lime, being sure to only get the green part and avoid the bitter white pith underneath. Place the lime zest into a small separate bowl.
5. Juice the Limes: Cut the zested lime and any additional limes needed in half. Using a citrus juicer or your hands, squeeze out 1/4 cup of fresh lime juice into the small bowl with the zest.
6. Whisk the Dressing: To the lime juice and zest, add the honey and a tiny pinch of salt (if using). Whisk these ingredients together until the honey is fully dissolved and the dressing is well combined. It should look slightly emulsified.
7. Dress the Fruit: Pour the honey lime dressing evenly over all the prepared fruit in the large mixing bowl.
8. Gently Toss and Serve: Using a large spoon or spatula, gently toss the fruit salad until all the fruit is lightly coated with the dressing. Be careful not to mash the berries. Serve immediately for the freshest taste, or chill briefly before serving.
