  • 8 oz dark chocolate
  • 8 oz white chocolate
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes
  • 20 to 25 sourdough crackers
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • sea salt for sprinkling

  • Instructions

    1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange sourdough crackers in a tight single layer

    2. Melt dark chocolate with coconut oil in short bursts in a microwave or over a double boiler until smooth

    3. Spread the melted dark chocolate evenly over the crackers and refrigerate until set, about 15 to 20 minutes

    4. Melt white chocolate and stir in peppermint extract until glossy

    5. Pour the white chocolate over the chilled dark layer and smooth the surface

    6. Sprinkle crushed candy canes and a pinch of sea salt over the white chocolate while it is still warm

    7. Chill the assembled bark until fully firm, about 20 to 30 minutes

    8. Let the bark sit at room temperature for five minutes then break into pieces by hand
