Bat-Shaped Quesadillas

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: Makes 12 bat quesadillas 1x

Description

Cheesy Halloween quesadillas cut into bat shapes—fast, kid-friendly party bites with optional chicken or beans and festive dips.

Ingredients

Scale

24 bat-shaped tortilla cutouts (from 1012 flour tortillas)

2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or blend)

1 cup cooked shredded chicken or black beans (optional)

1 teaspoon taco seasoning or chili powder

Pinch of salt

1 tablespoon butter or oil, for the skillet

Salsa, guacamole, and sour cream, for serving

Instructions

1. Cut bats from tortillas using a bat-shaped cookie cutter; reserve scraps for chips.

2. Mix cheese, taco seasoning, and optional chicken or beans with a pinch of salt.

3. Lay out half the tortilla bats, add a thin layer of filling, and top with remaining bats.

4. Heat a large skillet over medium, add a little butter or oil, and cook bats 1–2 minutes per side until golden and melty.

5. Repeat with remaining quesadillas, adding more butter or oil as needed; keep warm on a sheet pan at 200°F.

6. Serve warm with salsa, guacamole, and sour cream. Tip: Bake at 400°F for 6–8 minutes for a hands-off method.
