Description
These playful vampire cupcakes are spooky, fun, and surprisingly easy to make! With a rich chocolate base and fruity ‘blood’ glaze, they’re the perfect Halloween party treat for both kids and adults.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 large eggs
¾ cup sugar
½ cup oil (vegetable or coconut)
1 tsp vanilla extract
¾ cup milk or non-dairy milk
½ cup strawberry or raspberry jam (for glaze)
Red gel food coloring (optional)
White frosting (for fangs and eyes)
Black icing or chocolate chips (for eyes)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, sugar, oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
5. Divide batter into cupcake liners and bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
6. Cool completely on a wire rack.
7. Meanwhile, heat jam in a small saucepan until smooth. Add red food coloring if desired.
8. Spoon or drizzle glaze over cupcakes to look like “blood.”
9. Decorate with white frosting fangs and black eyes using icing or chocolate chips.
Notes
You can use boxed chocolate cupcake mix for faster prep.
Make it gluten-free by using a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
Add a drop of cherry extract to glaze for deeper flavor.
