Ingredients

Scale

4 oz (120 ml) apple cider, unfiltered if possible

2 oz (60 ml) dark rum or vodka

1 small cinnamon stick or a pinch of ground cinnamon

34 blackberries, plus extra for garnish

1/8 tsp activated charcoal or 23 drops black food coloring

1/2 oz (15 ml) water or cider (to mix the “poison”)

Instructions

1. If desired, rim a chilled glass with cinnamon-sugar; add a few blackberries and ice.

2. In a shaker, combine cider, rum or vodka, and cinnamon with ice; shake 10–15 seconds.

3. Strain into the prepared glass.

4. Stir the charcoal or food coloring with 1/2 oz water or cider until smooth.
