Cheese eyeballs wrapped in salami served as Creepy Halloween Appetizers on a platter 2

Savory Eyeballs with Cheese and Salami Wrap

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 24 eyeballs (8–12 servings) 1x

Description

Spooky, no-cook Halloween appetizers made with mozzarella, salami, and olive “pupils.” Easy to assemble, kid-friendly, and perfect as creepy finger food for party platters.

Ingredients

Scale

24 mini mozzarella balls (ciliegine), drained and patted dry

24 thin salami slices (Genoa or peppered)

12 green or black olives, sliced into thin rings

2 tbsp cream cheese or hummus, for “glue” (optional)

1/4 cup roasted red pepper, cut into thin vein-like strips (optional)

Fresh parsley or cilantro, for garnish

24 toothpicks or short skewers

Marinara or hot sauce, for serving (optional)

Instructions

1. Drain and pat dry the mozzarella; arrange the balls on a tray.

2. Slice olives into rings; reserve tiny bits of black olive for centers if desired.

3. Wrap each cheese ball with a slice of salami like an eyelid; trim if needed.

4. Dab a little cream cheese on top; press on an olive ring and add a black olive piece for the pupil.

5. Secure each eyeball with a toothpick; add thin red pepper strips as creepy veins, if using.

6. Chill 10–15 minutes to set; transfer to a dark platter and garnish with herbs.

7. Serve cold with small bowls of marinara or hot sauce for a “bloody” dip; keep chilled until serving.
