Slow Cooker Honey Glazed Carrots

Description

Tender carrots coated in a sweet honey butter glaze made hands off in the slow cooker, perfect for a stress free Thanksgiving side dish.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh carrots peeled and cut into even pieces
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • Fresh parsley or thyme for garnish

  • Instructions

    1. Peel and cut carrots into uniform 2 to 3 inch pieces or rinse baby carrots

    2. In a bowl whisk together melted butter honey brown sugar salt and cinnamon until smooth

    3. Place carrots in the slow cooker and pour glaze over them stirring gently to coat evenly

    4. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours

    5. Stir halfway through cooking to ensure even glazing

    6. When carrots are fork tender switch to keep warm and let sit 10 to 15 minutes to thicken the glaze

    7. Use a slotted spoon to transfer carrots to a serving dish spoon remaining glaze over top and garnish with parsley or thyme
