Description

Tangy sourdough crust topped with sauce, cheese, and favorite toppings, baked into easy lunchbox squares that store and reheat beautifully.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough starter (active) or discard
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • favorite toppings as desired (pepperoni, veggies, etc.)

  • Instructions

    1. In a large bowl mix sourdough starter warm water and olive oil until combined

    2. Add flour and salt stirring until no dry patches remain

    3. Cover and let rest for 2–3 hours if using active starter or 30 minutes if using discard

    4. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment

    5. Spread dough into a 1/2 inch thick rectangle and par-bake for 10–12 minutes until set

    6. Top with pizza sauce cheese and favorite toppings

    7. Bake for another 10–15 minutes until cheese is bubbling and edges are crisp

    8. Allow to cool slightly then slice into squares

    9. Cool completely and store in an airtight container for up to four days or freeze
