Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets refrigerated pizza dough (14 oz each)
  • 3 cups fresh spinach (or 10 oz frozen, thawed and drained)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg (optional for egg wash)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Instructions

    1. Combine cream cheese, mozzarella, parmesan, garlic, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes in a bowl until smooth

    2. Add fully drained spinach and stir until evenly blended

    3. Roll out one dough sheet on a floured surface to a 1/4-inch-thick rectangle

    4. Spread spinach-cheese mixture over dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border

    5. Top with second dough sheet and press edges to seal

    6. Cut dough into a large triangle and transfer to parchment-lined baking sheet

    7. Make horizontal cuts on both sides of the triangle, leaving the center intact

    8. Twist each branch 2-3 times to reveal filling

    9. Form a small star or ball from scraps and place atop as a tree topper

    10. Brush entire tree with melted butter or egg wash and sprinkle Italian herbs

    11. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden

    12. Brush warm tree with garlic butter glaze before serving
