  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A golden sourdough loaf scored and stuffed with a creamy blend of spinach, mozzarella, Parmesan, and garlic butter for an irresistible pull-apart party appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium sourdough round loaf (about 1 lb)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups baby spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • pinch crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)

  • Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

    2. In a bowl combine cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, spinach, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

    3. Use a serrated knife to make diagonal cuts about 3/4 deep, 1 inch apart, then rotate and repeat to form a crisscross pattern.

    4. Gently separate the loaf sections and spoon the spinach cheese mixture into each crevice.

    5. Brush the loaf with melted butter and drizzle with olive oil if using.

    6. Place loaf on a baking sheet, cover loosely with foil, and bake for 20 minutes.

    7. Remove foil and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes until cheese is melted and crust is golden.

    8. Let rest 5 minutes, then transfer to a serving board and pull apart to serve.
