Transform your family dinner into a spooky celebration with these creative and flavorful Spooky Meatballs and Mummy Bites. Perfect for kids and adults, this festive menu brings playful Halloween magic to the table.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 8 mini sausages
  • 1 beaten egg (for brushing)
  • 8 slices mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • candy eyes or mustard for decoration
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • pinch of paprika

  • Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

    2. In a large bowl combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, salt and pepper until just blended.

    3. Roll mixture into golf-ball sized meatballs and place on one baking sheet.

    4. Bake meatballs for 18–20 minutes until cooked through and golden brown.

    5. Brush baked meatballs with BBQ sauce and return to oven for 2–3 minutes.

    6. Top each meatball with a small mozzarella piece and half an olive to create spooky eyes.

    7. Unroll puff pastry and cut into 1/2 inch wide strips.

    8. Wrap each mini sausage with pastry strips, leaving a gap for the eyes.

    9. Brush wrapped sausages with beaten egg and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes until golden.

    10. Dot candy eyes or mustard on warm mummy bites to finish the faces.

    11. Arrange and serve both dishes with extra BBQ sauce and dips for a fun Halloween feast.
