Sweet, crunchy red velvet popcorn coated in white chocolate and spooky sprinkles—an easy, party-ready Halloween snack that doubles as dessert.
Ingredients
10 cups popped plain popcorn
1 cup white chocolate chips or vanilla melting wafers
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/3 cup red velvet cake mix, heat-treated
1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional, for extra crunch)
1/4 teaspoon fine salt
2 tablespoons Halloween sprinkles
2–3 tablespoons candy eyes or mini candies (optional)
Instructions
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment; place popcorn in a large mixing bowl.
2. Heat-treat cake mix: spread on a microwave-safe plate and heat in 30-second bursts, stirring, until it reaches 165°F; cool completely.
3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate and butter in 20–30 second bursts, stirring until smooth.
4. Stir in the cooled, heat-treated cake mix, sugar (if using), and salt until glossy and evenly red.
5. Drizzle the red mixture over popcorn; toss gently with a spatula to coat.
6. Spread coated popcorn onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
7. Top with Halloween sprinkles and candy eyes while still tacky.
8. Let set at room temperature 20–30 minutes, until firm.
9. Break into clusters, serve, or package in treat bags.
10. Store airtight at room temperature for up to 5 days.
