Description
A playful Halloween burger plate for toddlers: mini spider burgers with oven-baked fry “legs,” mild cheese eyes, and simple, kid-safe toppings. Festive, savory, and easy to assemble for parties or weeknight October dinners.
Ingredients
4 mini burger buns (whole wheat if desired)
8 oz lean ground beef or turkey
1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
1/8 tsp black pepper
Pinch of salt
4 thin slices mild cheddar or mozzarella
16–24 straight-cut oven fries (plus extra for serving)
2 pitted black olives or 4 grape tomato slices (for eyes)
4 small lettuce leaves or baby spinach (optional)
1 tsp olive oil (for the pan, optional)
Ketchup, hummus, or yogurt dip (optional)
Instructions
1. Bake fries on a lined tray at 425°F/220°C until tender and lightly golden; keep warm.
2. Mix ground meat with garlic powder, pepper, and a small pinch of salt; form 4 mini patties.
3. Heat a skillet with a light film of oil over medium; cook patties until well done (165°F/74°C), about 3–4 minutes per side.
4. Warm buns briefly in the oven. Place lettuce on bottoms (if using), add patties, and cap with tops.
5. Insert 4 fries into each side of every burger so they stick out like spider legs.
6. Cut small circles from cheese for eyes; place on top buns. Add tiny olive or tomato bits as pupils and press gently.
7. Serve with extra fries and a mild dip. For toddlers, slice burgers into bite-size pieces and supervise while eating.
