Description
Effortless, ultra creamy garlic mashed potatoes made in the slow cooker. Perfectly tender, lump-free, and rich in flavor for holidays or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Instructions
1. Place peeled and chopped potatoes and minced garlic in the slow cooker.
2. Add 1/4 cup of the butter and 1/2 cup broth to the cooker and stir to combine.
3. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, avoiding lifting the lid during cooking.
4. Check potatoes for doneness by piercing with a fork; they should be very tender.
5. Switch the slow cooker to warm and drain any excess liquid if present.
6. Add remaining butter, warm heavy cream, warm milk, salt, and pepper to the potatoes.
7. Mash with a potato masher until mostly smooth, leaving a few small chunks for texture.
8. Stir in cream cheese and sour cream if using, and adjust seasoning to taste.
9. Transfer mashed potatoes to a serving bowl, drizzle with melted butter, and garnish with chopped parsley.
10. Keep warm on the slow cooker ‘warm’ setting up to two hours, stirring occasionally and adding a splash of warm cream if needed.
