Fudgy brownies topped with candy eyeballs and bloodshot icing—easy, kid-friendly, and perfect for Halloween parties or Summerween movie nights.
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon fine salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
1 cup white candy melts or vanilla frosting
24–32 candy eyeballs
Red decorating gel (for veins)
Blue or green gel food coloring (optional for irises)
Sprinkles or gummy worms (optional)
OR 1 box fudgy brownie mix + box ingredients (substitute for scratch batter)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment and lightly grease.
2. Whisk melted butter and sugar until combined; whisk in eggs and vanilla until glossy.
3. Sift cocoa, flour, and salt over the bowl; fold in just until no dry spots remain. Stir in chocolate chips if using.
4. Spread batter evenly in the pan and smooth the top. Bake 22–28 minutes, until a toothpick has moist crumbs.
5. Cool in pan on a rack for 30 minutes. Lift out, then cut into 16 squares.
6. Melt candy melts (or use frosting). Pipe or spoon a white circle on each brownie as the eyeball base.
7. Press a candy eyeball in the center. Add red gel lines radiating outward for bloodshot veins; tint the white with blue/green gel for colorful irises if desired.
8. Add sprinkles or gummy worms for extra spooky flair. Let set 10–15 minutes before serving; store airtight up to 3 days.
9. Using a boxed mix? Prepare and bake as directed in a 9×13-inch pan, then decorate starting at Step 6.
