1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl beat butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs one at a time, then beat in ricotta, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla until smooth.
5. Gradually add dry ingredients and mix until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
6. Chill dough for 20 minutes if desired to prevent spreading.
7. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
8. Bake 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden and centers are set.
9. Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
