Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1/2 cup sourdough discard (unfed, straight from the fridge)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • optional: food-safe cookie cutters in Halloween shapes (ghosts, bats, pumpkins)

  • Instructions

    1. Preheat your oven to 375 F (190 C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

    2. Carefully unroll the crescent roll dough onto your prepared baking sheet. Do not separate the individual triangles. Gently press the seams together to form one large, rectangular sheet of dough.

    3. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sourdough discard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

    4. Generously brush the entire surface of the crescent roll dough with the sourdough-butter mixture. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.

    5. If using cookie cutters, press them firmly into the dough to create your Halloween shapes. If not using cookie cutters, use a pizza cutter or a sharp knife to cut the dough into small squares, rectangles, or thin strips. Arrange the cut pieces slightly apart on the baking sheet.

    6. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the snack mix is golden brown and crispy.

    7. Once baked, remove the baking sheet from the oven. Let the snack mix cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve immediately or store for later.
