Olivia Wells – Founder & Editor
Every loaf tells a story—and I’m here to help you write yours.
Some people stumble into baking. For Olivia, it was love at first loaf.
Raised in a quiet Welsh town where fresh bread meant comfort and connection, she found magic in the slow rhythm of fermentation. What began as weekend experiments with flour and water soon grew into an obsession with crust, crumb, and community.
When she realized how intimidating sourdough seemed to beginners, Olivia decided to change that narrative. She envisioned a place where home bakers could learn without fear of failure — where every sticky dough and imperfect bake could become a story worth sharing. That vision became SourdoughLovers.

Why I Believe Sourdough Should Be Simple
For Olivia, sourdough is more than a recipe — it’s a mindset.
“Bread should fit into real life, not the other way around,” she often says.
Her mission is to help home bakers strip away the pressure of perfection. With approachable tutorials, troubleshooting tips, and zero-waste ideas for using discard, she teaches that the joy of baking comes from process, not polish.
She believes that every loaf tells a story — of patience, of care, and of connection to something timeless.

Behind the Loaves
When she’s not testing recipes or shooting crumb shots, Olivia can be found tending her starter near a sunny window, flipping through old cookbooks, or sharing loaves with friends and neighbors.
She believes the best bread isn’t made in fancy kitchens — it’s made with love, patience, and a bit of wild magic.
